Add and manage products

Every shoot starts from a product and one of its photos. In the web app you add your products yourself; Shootika does not read them from your store.

You need the Admin or Editor role to add or change products. Other roles can see them. See Team, API keys and assistants.

  1. Open Products and choose New product.
  2. Enter a Title, for example “Linen shirt”.
  3. Choose a Garment category: Tops, Bottoms or One-pieces. It helps Shootika pick the right pose. If you are not sure, leave it on Any.
  4. Under Photos, choose Add photos or drop the files in.
  5. Choose Create product. The product’s page opens.

If the product is created but its photos fail to upload, the web app says so; add them again from the product’s page.

You can also add products from your own software with the REST API. See Products and images.

  • Flat-lay photos work best.
  • JPEG, PNG or WebP, up to 15 MB each, 20 at a time.
  • Larger photos give sharper results. A photo whose short side is under 600 pixels can still be used, but the web app warns that the result may look soft.
  • A photo Shootika made cannot be used as the photo to shoot from. Shoot from one of your own.

Open the product from Products. On its page:

  • Rename: choose the pencil beside the title, type the new title and choose the tick.
  • Add photos: choose the Add photos tile under Product image.
  • Delete a photo: choose the cross on it, then Delete. Photos already shot from it are kept.

Photos you saved from a shoot are marked Generated and have no cross. To take one off, open it and choose Remove from product (see Shoot and review photos).

Products lists your catalog with each product’s category and how many Shootika photos it has.

  • Search products finds a product by name.
  • The All, Apparel and Other tabs and the Category filter narrow the list.
  • Clear all removes the search and the filters.

On-model photos are for clothing. A product that is not marked as apparel cannot be shot: its page says “This product is not marked as apparel”. If it is a garment, choose Mark as apparel on that page.
