Cursor, Codex and other coding tools

Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf and other editors that take a remote MCP server by URL connect the same way.

  1. In your editor’s MCP settings, add a server with the URL https://mcp.shootika.com. Where those settings live differs by editor and version; your editor’s documentation names them.
  2. Start the server or use one of its tools. The editor opens a Shootika page in your browser where you sign in and approve. See Connect an assistant.

When the editor sends the approval back to a program on your computer, the Shootika page says so: “This assistant is a program running on this computer. Only approve if you started it yourself.”

Install the Shootika plugin:

Terminal window
codex plugin marketplace add shootika-ai/plugin
codex plugin add shootika@shootika

The plugin adds the Shootika MCP server and the shoot-products skill, which walks Codex through a shoot from start to publish. When Codex asks you to sign in to or authenticate the Shootika server, the Shootika page opens in your browser, where you sign in and approve. See Connect an assistant.
